We publish no number without having checked it, because a number that no longer answers does more harm than good. The directory for this country is being checked by the team.
We only publish numbers we have checked ourselves, and we have none yet for this country. We are not showing you another country's numbers: they would not connect from where you are.
Before you dial
These are the three questions that come up most often before a first call.
What this page holds
We publish a number only once we have dialled it ourselves. The date of the last check is written on every card, and you can tell us when a number stops answering.
None of these lines asks you to pay in order to talk. A short number stays reachable from a phone with no credit left.
You can call without saying who you are. You have nothing to prove, nothing to justify, and no file is opened because you called.
Nothing obliges you to see the conversation through. And nothing stops you calling back afterwards, the same day or another one.
During the call
There is no right way to begin. These four markers exist only so that the silence at the start does not make you hang up.
“I am not doing well” is enough to open the exchange. The person on the line takes it from there: leading the conversation is not your job.
The country and the town change what can be offered to you. It is often the first question, and it is not a check on you.
And whether anyone can join you this evening. Knowing who is there, or who is not, shapes the rest of the exchange.
To talk, to be called back, or only to know where to go tomorrow. All three are fair requests, and the last one as much as the others.
For someone else
Standing by someone who is unwell means holding on without knowing for how long. These markers do not replace your judgement: they support it.
Naming what you see — “you have seemed different lately” — opens the conversation more surely than a general question about how they are.
A number is easier to dial when someone is sitting next to you. You can start the call yourself, then hand over the phone.
You can promise to stay. You cannot promise to say nothing if the situation becomes dangerous, and saying so early avoids breaking trust later.
Write to us: we answer, and finding the right direction works better with two people. You need no account for that.
At night
Night narrows everything: what is hard looks like a dead end, and there is nobody to say it to. Here is what we know, and what we do not.
When a line has given us its hours, they appear above its number. When nothing is written, it means we have not checked them — and we do not invent them.
Their number appears in your country list as soon as we have checked it. That is the one to dial if the situation cannot wait until morning.
Tell someone close to you, even by message, even without explaining. Stay in a lit room. Drink water. None of this settles the night; it makes it shorter.
What we are not
We are a prevention service. We do not replace a treatment, we do not take over a situation where someone is in danger, and we do not answer day and night. What we know how to do starts afterwards: walking alongside you over time, at your own pace, once this moment has passed.
When this moment has passed, if you want to talk about it over time, we are here. No medical appointment, no file, and at your own pace.
